I have been spending a lot of time thinking of exactly what I want this blog to be??? I feel like it's my first day on the job, although this is way more fun than any job I have ever had! So, I am googling like mad and reading every blog I can get my hands on for inspiration and helpful hints. Miss Mustard Seed talked about the qualities of a successful blog and I liked her quote "Be yourself....someone else is taken". I have decided to adopt this as my "blog mantra", if you will? Link to her blog here...http://missmustardseed.blogspot.com/
Things I would like to accomplish this week:
1.) Learn how to create a "button" for my blog. Why I''m not sure-- but all blogs seem to have them so I guess I probably should to?
2.) Attend my first blog "party"! Stay tuned...
3.) Contact all my tech-savy friends and barade them with questions about blogging. I also need someone to explain SEO's -- so confusing!
4.) Look into purchasing Photoshop software, because it seems most successful blogs have fantastic photography featuring whatever it is they are blogging about. (A fancy SRL camera and maybe a digital photog. class will come later)
5.) Develop my talent or craft, as I have also noticed most of the blogs I follow sell something on a website or in an Etsy shop. (Ok, well this is probably more of a long-term goal, although I do have some ideas brewing....)
6.) and probably the most important... Figure out how to get FOLLOWERS?? because without them I feel like I am talking to myself and I do enough of that as it is ;)
If you have any helpful tips or hints feel free to share. I am all ears!!!

First things first!
Hello friends!
Well, I'm finally doing it... creating a blog. In the past 2 months, I was introduced to home decorating & DIY blogs ( I know where have I been?) To be honest I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon my first, but since that day I have fallen in love with all things blog! So here it goes (drum roll please...) my first post.
I am Jennifer, mostly known as Jen. I am currently living in Central New Jersey in a small town very close to where I grew up. I have been married to my husband Drew for 8 years and we have 2 beautiful children Andrew and Caroline. More on my little cherubs later...
milestone rd. was born out of my love of home decorating (& re-decorating), shopping, visiting our cottage in Nantucket, MA., and most of all spending time with my family. I hope to share things that inspire me, my passion for home decorating on a dime, and snip-its of the day-to-day happenings of my life as it unfolds...
